KIN is an initiative aimed at bringing black activists and organisers together from across the UK to collaborate, strategise and support each other. KIN is built on the fundamental belief that Black activists and organisers working on radical, structural change need Black only spaces to learn, heal and build together.
KIN believes that we, as Black communities, have the skills and the knowledge to achieve collective liberation, but the systematic attack on collectivism and the under-resourcing of Black communities nationally and globally are obstacles to achieving this. Founded in 2017 by a collective of London-based activists, KIN has for three years created a hub of solidarity, thought and restoration for Black activists and organisers in the UK and across the globe.
Our vision is a thriving and sustainable movement for Black liberation in the UK, with healing, joy and international solidarity as its practice.
